The young and talented Hsiao Ron Cheng is from Taiwan and has been working freelance since 2012. Not too long after the start of her career, she already earned international attention particularly from partners in fashion and design. She’s also been nominated and selected as recipient for the Young Illustrator Award at age 26.
We’ve gathered some samples of her work, and here’s a few of them:
Cheng’s commissioned work for an album “Roses” by Canadian singer-songwriter, Cœur de pirate.
Cheng is also into personal portrait projects where she mostly channels her penchant for pastels, lush florals, and popular elements of nature like trees, foliage, and butterflies.
Fashion Portrait, “Pink Hair Girl”
This is one of Cheng’s editorial work for a magazine, specifically Delve Weekly. This portrait is based on the film Mommy.
Cheng was also onced commission to do an 8ft. mural for ZOKOKO, an Aussie chocolate coffee shop. The owner’s idea was to install a digital painting of the entire coffee-making process from scratch.
As you can see, Cheng has realized the concept wonderfully while still retaining her signature touch on the outcome. Pastels with a dreamy-like, youthful aura.
